Not Healing? Here’s Why…

My own path to wellness was far from straightforward. I struggled with a digestive autoimmune condition for several years that seemed to resist every treatment I tried. It was frustrating, disheartening, and at times, downright exhausting.

Maybe like me you have explored various healing modalities, from Western medicine to alternative therapies and energy work, yet that deep, lasting healing still eludes you. If so, you're not alone, and I'm here to share some wisdom that could transform your healing journey.

However, through this challenging experience, I discovered three fundamental practices that not only facilitated my healing but have since become cornerstones in my work with clients.

These aren't quick fixes or miracle cures. Instead, they're foundational principles that create the ideal conditions for healing to occur. When these practices are in place, it's as if a switch flips: the healing modalities that truly serve us begin to stick, while those that don't naturally fall away. Let's dive into these three essential practices:

1. Open Your Heart Energy

The first practice is all about opening your heart energy. It might sound simple, but it's profound in its impact. Many of us, often subconsciously, close off our heart centers. I call this "heart hiding," and it's prevalent in our society.

Picture this: shoulders rolled forward, neck protruding, gaze downcast. It's a posture that exemplifies protection, but it's also one that blocks the expansive energy of an open heart. This closed-off stance isn't just physical; it reflects an emotional and energetic state that can hinder our ability to receive healing.

So, how do we open our heart energy? Start with your physical posture. Roll your shoulders back and down, elongate your spine, and lift your crown toward the sky. Yes, it might feel vulnerable or uncomfortable at first, but that openness is crucial. It's in this open state that we become receptive to self-love, self-compassion, and ultimately, healing.

One powerful technique I use and teach is heart coherence breathing.

Here's a simple practice you can try:

1. Imagine your favorite color, one that represents powerful healing energy to you.

2. Place this color at the center of your heart.

3. As you inhale, visualize the color brightening.

4. As you exhale, see the color expanding, moving beyond your body into your aura.

Practice this for just a minute or two each day. You'll be amazed at how it opens your ability to receive the healing you need.

2. Let Go of the "How"

The second practice involves releasing our attachment to the specific way we think healing should happen. This was a tough one for me personally. I remember spending countless hours scouring the internet, desperately searching for "How do I heal from autoimmunity?" I had a fixed picture in my mind of how my healing journey was going to unfold.

But here's the thing: that tunnel vision, often fueled by fear and anxiety, can actually block us from receiving the healing we need. When we're fixated on a particular path or solution, we close ourselves off to other opportunities that might come our way.

Letting go of the "how" doesn't mean giving up or becoming passive in your healing journey. Instead, it's about cultivating openness and trust. It's about being present in the moment and allowing your healing to unfold in ways you might not have anticipated.

My own healing from autoimmune disease came in a way I never could have predicted. It wasn't listed in any internet search results or medical textbooks. It unfolded in its own perfect, divine timing.

So how do we practice letting go of the "how"? One powerful tool is meditation. By regularly practicing being in the present moment, even for just a few minutes a day, we can loosen our grip on our preconceived notions and open ourselves to new possibilities. It's not always easy, but it is doable for anyone with practice and patience.

3. Feel Worthy of Healing

The final practice, and perhaps the most crucial for many sensitive souls, is cultivating a sense of worthiness to receive healing. This is especially important for empaths and those who tend to prioritize others' needs above their own.

During my struggle with autoimmunity, I was also a mother to two young children. Naturally, their needs took precedence, but I often forgot about my own well-being in the process. Without realizing it, I had internalized a belief that I wasn't worthy of taking the time and effort to care for myself.

This isn't something we do consciously, especially if we're natural givers. It's a subconscious pattern that can significantly impact our ability to heal. When we don't feel worthy of healing, we may sabotage our efforts or fail to fully engage with the treatments and practices that could help us.

Cultivating worthiness involves recognizing that your health and well-being are just as important as anyone else's. It means giving yourself permission to prioritize your healing journey, to invest time and resources in your wellness, and to receive support and care from others.

One way to build this sense of worthiness is through positive affirmations. I have a free meditation that I’d love for you to consider if this is an area you struggle with. You can listen HERE. It might feel uncomfortable at first, but with time, you'll start to believe it.

Bringing It All Together

These three practices - opening your heart energy, letting go of the "how," and feeling worthy of healing - form a powerful foundation for your healing journey. They work synergistically, each supporting and enhancing the others.

When your heart is open, you're more receptive to new possibilities, making it easier to let go of your preconceived notions about healing. As you release your attachment to specific outcomes, you create space for unexpected blessings and solutions. And as you cultivate a sense of worthiness, you naturally open your heart more fully and trust more deeply in the healing process.

Remember, these practices aren't one-time fixes. They're ongoing commitments, daily choices we make to support our healing. Some days will be easier than others, and that's okay. The key is to be gentle with yourself and keep coming back to these principles.

Ultimately, these practices help to awaken your Inner Healer. We all have an innate capacity for healing, a wisdom within us that knows what we need to thrive. By opening your heart, releasing control, and recognizing your worthiness, you create the perfect conditions for this inner wisdom to flourish.

Sensitive soul, I want you to know that healing IS possible. No matter how long you've been struggling, no matter how many treatments you've tried, there is hope.

As you work with these principles, be patient and compassionate with yourself. Celebrate each small step forward, each moment of openness, each act of self-love.

Remember, you are worthy of healing. You deserve to feel whole, vibrant, and alive. Trust in your inner healer, and allow your healing to unfold in its own beautiful, unique way.
